Since the opening of Monterey High School in 1955, the MHS Band has proudly served as the largest spirit organization on campus while excelling in the marching, concert, solo and ensemble, jazz, and colorguard activities. Known all around as the "Swingin' Beat from 50th Street" the Band prides itself on high expectations, building each other up through the fellowship of teamwork, and the thrill of performance!

General Information
Monterey High School is located in Lubbock, Texas and is a part of the Lubbock Independent School District. The Monterey Band currently serves 200+ students who participate in marching band, three concert bands, large and small chamber ensembles, and color guard. The middle school feeder programs for the Monterey Band are Atkins MS, Evans MS, and O.L. Slaton MS. The Monterey Band thrives on its strong booster, administrative, and community support.
