Kylie Jones, Colorguard Instructor
The MHS Colorguard is an integral part of the Marching Band and gives color and pageantry to the "Swingin' Beat from 50th Street!" These students are selected by audition in the Spring prior to the Fall marching season. Selected students enroll in the Color Guard Techniques class for the Fall semester and rehearse outside the school day at the same time as the Marching Band, with a few additional rehearsals. These students pride themselves on being at the cutting edge of modern marching choreography, holding themselves to high expectations of performance at every show.
MHS Winterguard
The MHS Winterguard competes in the Caprock Color Guard Circuit "Scholastic A" division, named as Grand Champions in 2014 and 2015. These students are selected by audition in the Fall prior to the season. Selected students enroll in the Color Guard Techniques class for the Spring semester and rehearse outside the school day as needed to maintain our high expectation of success. These students pride themselves on being at the cutting edge of modern choreography, holding themselves to high expectations of performance at every show.
